The most interesting part of the online course is certainly related to the relationship between emotional intelligence and the development of key skills. Creating a serene learning environment, where you can express your emotions (including fears and insecurities, as well as the annoyance caused by attitudes that disturb your sensitivity) is fundamental for carrying out the work of building skills and developing knowledge. I believe it is also fundamental for obtaining a mature relationship, almost between equals as we are all people, between teachers and students.
The lesson plans allow Interesting practical challenges - students create work of art being in Michelangelo's shoes. Knowledge through personal experience - perfect! All students can be involved, even with disabilities, language problems, etc.
The database of lesson plans designed for teachers working with students aged 11-15 is available on the project website. In the lesson plan entitled "Effective Communication and Empathy in Conflict Resolution" students bridge emotional gaps by mastering active listening and "I" statements. By analyzing common conflicts, they learn to prioritize empathy over being right. Through role-play and reflection, learners develop the essential communication tools needed to regulate their emotions and resolve interpersonal challenges with both confidence and collaboration..
The database of lesson plans designed for teachers working with students aged 11-15 is available on the project website. The lesson plan entitled "Visualizing Emotions: Creating a Feelings Collage" explores emotions through visual representation. Students identify, analyze, and create collages linking emotions to personal experiences. Learning outcomes include understanding emotional expression, enhancing creativity, and fostering empathy through discussions and presentations that celebrate diverse interpretations of feelings using colors, imagery, and symbolic connections to media and art.
The fourth partners' meeting of the POEMS project took place in Urnieta (ES). All partners participated in the meeting, and the main discussed topics were: - Final target groups' assessment of the Lesson Plans - Definition of the strategy to pilot the lesson plans - Definition of the structure of the publication
